A textile artist and photographer, Sheila Buchanan studied on the degree course in
constructed textiles at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee, Scotland, 1994—1997, graduating with a 2/1 degree in 1997. Offered the opportunity to study on the masters degree course the year she graduated, Sheila opted instead to return to special needs teaching, giving art classes through Elmwood College in Fife.
