"Another weave"

I have now decided to forward three tapestry weavings for the B.T.G. exhibitions in London and Harrogate. Tapestry weavers are allowed to enter three pieces of work for this juried exhibition..and I am inspired to create a third piece of work..just a small piece!I hope to show images of the other two pieces once the weaving is further on. Completed sketches for these yesterday..happily weaving now!

"Vision"and "Woven Art"2014

After being approached by "Vision" magazine, a week ago (this is the magazine for Foresters group who are a charity that supports children dealing with all kinds of difficulties)I will now have a small advert for "SheduDesign"in their magazine for a whole year. I am so happy to be part of a positive change through this....much needed! I heard today, too, from the British Tapestry Group to apply for "Woven Art14" exhibitions to be held in London, then Harrogate later this year. I have decided to forward "Into the turquoise dome" above, as one of two pieces I will submit for this..I have still to design/create the second piece of work..but, already have ideas.

New weave for American Tapestry Alliance exhibition.

"My latest tapestry weave I have just started to create, is a small piece of work which I hope to submit for an exhibition by the American Tapestry Alliance. This will be a juried exhibition open to tapestry weavers across the World. The exhibition will tour in 2015/16 from Louisiana to Delaware to North Carolina. The deadline for submitting the work is end of October 2014.This is an opportunity to weave something small, but imaginative on the theme "honouring tradition/inspiring innovation." I hope to make a connection with Native American values in this piece of work.I intend to photograph this piece as it progresses to show on my blog."

"More weave in 2014"

"The woven tapestry commission for my friend's sisters wedding is now almost halfway complete!I hope to have images of this on my blog in early 2014.Very happy too, that, starting in 2014, I will be creating original handwoven panels for one of the bag designs for my friends, Lou and Ross of Leo Designs, based in Perth.More details of that, once I have started creating for them. This will further my weaving skills..and keep me happily creating!I also hope to create a SheduDesign online shop selling small gift items that I create...and hope to be running more children's art workshops similar to the ones in Aberdour which I so enjoyed giving."
